3 червня 2025 року завідувач кафедри ортодонтії Полтавського державного медичного університету, доктор медичних наук, професор Любов Смаглюк взяла участь у міжнародному Teacher Forum-2025, що відбувся у місті Краків ( Польща). Темою цьогорічного форуму стала: «Штучний інтелект: вступ для викладача ортодонтії».
Захід проходив напередодні 100-го Конгресу Європейського ортодонтичного товариства та об’єднав фахівців, які обговорювали виклики та можливості, що відкриває цифрова трансформація в стоматологічній освіті.
У рамках форуму було розглянуто ключові питання, серед яких
- основи штучного інтелекту, машинного та глибокого навчання в стоматології
- приклади використання алгоритмів у цефалометрії, діагностиці та прогнозуванні результатів лікування
- цифрові навички, яких потребують сучасні студенти при вивченні ортодонтії
- адаптація навчальних курсів до цифрових реалій
- етичні аспекти використання ШІ: де межа між підтримкою та заміщенням професійного досвіду.
Особливу зацікавленість викликала лекція професора Рубена Паувелса, після якої учасники активно дискутували щодо майбутнього викладання ортодонтії та зміненої ролі викладача в умовах цифровізації освіти.
Участь у таких міжнародних заходах сприяє професійному зростанню викладачів, впровадженню інновацій в освітній процес та розвитку цифрових компетентностей у сфері медичної освіти.

How Artificial Intelligence Is Changing Orthodontic Education — PSMU Participation in an International Forum in Poland
On June 3, 2025, Professor Liubov Smagliuk, Doctor of Medical Sciences, the Head of the Department of Orthodontics at Poltava State Medical University, took part in the international Teacher Forum-2025, held in Kraków, Poland. This year’s forum was dedicated to the theme: "Artificial Intelligence: An Introduction for the Orthodontics Educator."
The event took place ahead of the 100th Congress of the European Orthodontic Society and brought together specialists to discuss the challenges and opportunities presented by digital transformation in dental education.
Key topics addressed during the forum included:
- Fundamentals of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and deep learning in dentistry
- Examples of algorithm application in cephalometry, diagnosis, and treatment outcome prediction
- Digital skills needed by today’s students studying orthodontics
- Adapting curriculum content to fit digital realities
- Ethical considerations in AI use: where is the line between support and replacement of professional expertise?
A lecture by Professor Ruben Pauwels sparked particular interest and led to an active discussion among participants regarding the future of orthodontic education and the evolving role of educators in the digital era.
