Сьогодні, 17 квітня 2025 року, в Полтаві, у ПДМУ, відбулася науково-практична конференція оториноларингологів Полтавщини, присвячена пам’яті видатного лікаря, вченого та педагога — професора Сергія Борисовича Безшапочного.
Захід об’єднав провідних ЛОР-спеціалістів з усієї України, які вшанували спадщину професора Сергія Безшапочного, поділилися новітніми дослідженнями та обговорили актуальні виклики сучасної оториноларингології.
Сергій Борисович Безшапочний (1946–2025) — заслужений діяч науки і техніки України, доктор медичних наук, професор, головний ринолог країни, багаторічний завідувач кафедри оториноларингології Полтавського державного медичного університету. Він був автором понад 400 наукових праць, включаючи підручники, монографії та навчальні посібники, а також мав численні патенти та винаходи у сфері ЛОР-хірургії .
Його наукова діяльність була спрямована на розробку ендоскопічних та малотравматичних методів діагностики та лікування захворювань порожнини носа й навколоносових пазух. Професор Сергій Безшапочний також активно займався громадською роботою, був депутатом Полтавської міської ради та очолював Полтавське обласне наукове товариство оториноларингологів .
Під час конференції учасники заслухали низку доповідей, присвячених сучасним методам діагностики та лікування ЛОР-захворювань, зокрема, в умовах воєнного стану. Особливу увагу було приділено інноваційним підходам у ринології, які були започатковані або розвинуті завдяки науковій діяльності професора Сергія Безшапочного.
Серед доповідачів — провідні фахівці з Києва, Харкова, Івано-Франківська та інших міст України, які поділилися результатами своїх досліджень та клінічним досвідом. Учасники конференції також обговорили перспективи розвитку оториноларингології в Україні та шляхи впровадження новітніх технологій у практичну медицину.
Конференція завершилася урочистим вшануванням пам’яті Сергія Борисовича Безшапочного. Колеги, учні та послідовники згадали його як талановитого лікаря, мудрого наставника та людину з великим серцем. Його внесок у розвиток української медицини є неоціненним, а пам’ять про нього назавжди залишиться в серцях тих, хто мав честь працювати та навчатися під його керівництвом.
Цей захід став не лише науковою подією, але й символом глибокої поваги та вдячності до людини, яка присвятила своє життя служінню медицині та людям

Scientific and Practical Conference of Otolaryngologists of Poltava Region Held at PSMU
Today, April 17, 2025, a scientific and practical conference of otolaryngologists from the Poltava region was held at Poltava State Medical University (PSMU), dedicated to the memory of the outstanding physician, scientist, and educator — Professor Serhii Borysovych Bezshapochnyi.
The event brought together leading ENT specialists from across Ukraine who honored Professor Bezshapochnyi’s legacy, shared the latest research, and discussed current challenges in modern otolaryngology.
Serhii Borysovych Bezshapochnyi (1946–2025) was a renowned figure in Ukrainian medicine — an Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, the country's leading rhinologist, and longtime head of the Department of Otolaryngology at PSMU. He authored over 400 scientific works, including textbooks, monographs, and educational manuals, and held numerous patents and inventions in the field of ENT surgery.
His scientific activity focused on developing endoscopic and minimally invasive methods for diagnosing and treating nasal and paranasal sinus diseases. Beyond his scientific contributions, Professor Bezshapochnyi was an active public figure, a deputy of the Poltava City Council, and headed the Poltava Regional Scientific Society of Otolaryngologists.
During the conference, participants listened to a series of presentations devoted to modern methods of diagnosing and treating ENT diseases, especially in the context of martial law. Particular attention was paid to innovative approaches in rhinology that were pioneered or advanced thanks to Professor Bezshapochnyi’s scientific work.
Among the speakers were leading experts from Kyiv, Kharkiv, Ivano-Frankivsk, and other Ukrainian cities, who shared the results of their research and clinical experience. Conference participants also discussed prospects for the development of otolaryngology in Ukraine and the implementation of cutting-edge technologies in clinical practice.
The event concluded with a ceremonial tribute to the memory of Serhii Borysovych Bezshapochnyi. Colleagues, students, and followers remembered him as a talented doctor, a wise mentor, and a person with a generous heart. His contribution to the advancement of Ukrainian medicine is invaluable, and his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who had the honor of working and studying under his guidance.
This event was not only a scientific gathering but also a symbol of deep respect and gratitude toward a man who devoted his life to serving medicine and humanity.
