Кожну третю суботу травня в Україні вшановують наукові традиції, підсумовують досягнення – святкують День науки, адже саме вона є індикатором інтелектуального потенціалу нації та її майбутнього.
Науковці Полтавського державного медичного університету гідно представляють свій заклад і країну на міжнародній арені, щодня працюють для постійного поступу прогресу та впровадження наукових результатів у надважливій нині галузі – охороні здоров’я. У час, коли здійснення дослідницької роботи потребує все більше зусиль та нелегкої роботи, наполеглива праця нашого колективу множить здобутки у світову скарбницю знань.
Забезпечують якість наукових досліджень на національному рівні наші проректори – Ігор Кайдашев та Ігор Скрипник, які працюють заступниками голів експертних рад Міністерства освіти і науки України з питань атестації наукових кадрів. Необхідність підготовки висококваліфікованих кадрів у галузі охорони здоров’я нині не викликає сумнівів і ставить перед нами відповідальні завдання, які ми успішно виконуємо. У 2023 році університет підготував доктора медичних наук – доцента кафедри громадського здоров’я з лікарсько-трудовою експертизою Олександра Гавловського за консультування професора Ірини Голованової. Успішно реалізовуючи 5 PhD-програм, університет підготував 15 докторів філософії, які достойно продовжують свої наукові розвідки, примножуючи результати потужних наукових шкіл закладу. Стипендію Полтавської міської ради для молодих вчених у 2023 році отримали аспіранти Роман Скрипник та Олександр Максименко.
Задля підготовки конкурентоспроможних наукових кадрів працюють в університеті спеціалізовані вчені ради: Д 44.601.02 із правом прийняття до розгляду та проведення захисту дисертацій на здобуття наукового ступеня доктора (кандидата) медичних наук за спеціальностями: 14.01.02 – внутрішні хвороби, 14.01.11 – кардіологія, 14.01.20 – шкірні та венеричні хвороби (https://www.pdmu.edu.ua/spetsrada/dysertacii/d-44-601-02-22); Д 44.601.01 з правом прийняття до розгляду та проведення захисту дисертацій на здобуття наукового ступеня доктора наук за спеціальністю 14.01.22 «Стоматологія» (https://www.pdmu.edu.ua/spetsrada/dysertacii/d-44-601-01).
Пріоритетним вектором діяльності нашого закладу є розвиток дослідницьких здібностей молодого покоління науковців, починаючи зі студентської лави. Саме вони формуватимуть науковий осередок, який буде відповідати на виклики, з якими Україна зіткнеться після війни. Так, здобувачки Липко Анастасія, Рак Анастасія стажувалися в Університеті Ла-Ріохи (м. Логроньо, Іспанія), Шубіна Олександра, Давидович Ксенія, Мамєдова Ельвіна – у Варшавському медичному університеті (Польща). Стипендії Полтавської обласної ради імені Героя Небесної Сотні – Героя України Ігоря Сердюка удостоєні студенти Анатолій Мягкохліб та Вероніка Мамонтова.
Талановитими студентами проведено складні наукові пошуки та якісні дослідження, що дало змогу презентувати 24 роботи до участі у Всеукраїнському конкурсі студентських наукових робіт МОН України. Також студентами особисто та у співавторстві опубліковано 14 статей у періодичних виданнях МОН України, 17 – у виданнях, індексованих SCOPUS/Web of Science.
Пишаємося нашими студентами-переможцями конкурсу «На здобуття премії НАН України для молодих учених (студентів)» в галузі наук «Біохімія, фізіологія та молекулярна біологія» Георгієм Костенком, Ярославою Петрашевською, В’ячеславом Михайленком.
Міжнародна співпраця закладу також дала низку вагомих результатів. У рамках співпраці з Ессенськими інститутами вірусології та мікробіології партнером – Німецьким Об'єднанням Міжнародної співпраці (GIZ) профінасовано проєкт по відбудові ефективної вірусологічної і мікробіологічної діагностики у Полтаві. Цей проєкт є частиною невідкладної програми для України від Федерального Міністерства економічного Міжнародного співробітництва і Розвитку (BMZ). У рамках співпраці придбано набори для діагностики інфекційних хвороб, ідентифікації патогенної мікрофлори та чутливості до антибіотиків, для виділення нуклеїнових кислот.
26-27 лютого 2024 року в Берліні відбулася конференція Німецького товариства міжнародного співробітництва (GIZ), яке підтримує Україну за дорученням Федерального уряду Німеччини. У конференції, присвяченій партнерству між лікарнями «Партнерства у сфері охорони здоров’я між Україною та Німеччиною: стійкість, відновлення, вступ до ЄС», взяли участь представники МОЗ України, науковці Полтавського державного медичного університету професори Ігор Кайдашев, Тетяна Коваль.
Налагоджено співпрацю з Університетом Ворика та Університетом Ковентрі (Велика Британія) з метою залучення представників англійських вишів до наукових проєктів ПДМУ та розробки спільних навчальних модулів для здобувачів ступеня доктора філософії у рамках міжнародного проєкту “Collaborative Online International Learning” (СOIL).
Розроблено проєкт «DigiTal tRANSFORMation of higher dental EDucation (TRANSFORMED)» разом з Університетом Порту (Португалії), Університетом Поля Сабатьє (Франція), Університетом Перуджі (Італія) та Вільнюським університетом (Литва) для участі у конкурсі «Capacity building in the field of higher education – 2023».
Продовжується співпраця з Європейською фундацією університетів (European University Foundation EUF), Наглядовою Радою Великої Хартії Університетів (Observatory Magna Charta Universitatum), Міжнародною ініціативою Організації Об’єднаних Націй «Академічний вплив» (United Nations Academic Impact, UNAI), Європейською асоціацією університетів (European University Association, EUA), Міжнародною асоціацією університетів (International Association of Universities, IAU).
Щиро завдячуємо закордонним партнерам, які продовжують підтримувати нас попри надскладну ситуацію в Україні. Завдяки їхній підтримці стає можливим безперервний пошук нових напрямків співпраці, виконання спільних досліджень, що дає нові можливості отримання стипендій і грантів для науково-педагогічних працівників, здобувачів наукового ступеня доктора філософії та здобувачів вищої освіти: Erasmus+, EFIS Scholarship, Fernandes Fellowship (Велика Британія), PAUSE Program (Франція), інтерактивні ресурси “#ScienceForUkraine” та “War in Ukraine – Student Support Centre”, стипендії Тель-Авівського університету, Програма інтеграції українських вчених (Бразилія) та ін.
Уже традиційним є Форум науки – марафон наукових заходів, покликаний об'єднати огляд досягнень і наймолодших науковців, і тих, хто професійно здійснює наукову діяльність у галузі біомедицини. Проведено 4-у міжнародну студентську конференцію “International Medical Students Conference in Poltava (IMEDSCOP 2023), конкурс наукових робіт МОН України, Всеукраїнську конференцію молодих вчених «Медична наука». Для науково-педагогічних працівників та спеціалістів у галузі охорони здоров’я проведено 20 заходів різних рівнів (https://www.pdmu.edu.ua/sections/naukovyi-viddil/conferences), серед них традиційні – V Полтавські перинатальні читання ім. Максимовича-Амбодика: «Новітні технології в перинатальній практиці, педіатричній службі, медичній освіті та виклики сьогодення», всеукраїнська науково-практична конференція «Актуальні питання клінічної неврології (присвячена 70-річчю з дня народження професора Наталії Грицай)».
У рейтинговому списку університетів України за показниками SCOPUS 2023 ПДМУ посів 86 місце (https://osvita.ua/vnz/rating/88976/). До слова, у 2024 році заклад посідає уже 77 місце, що свідчить про ефективну роботу колективу. Адже протягом 2023 року науковці опублікували 266 статей у авторитетних виданнях баз Scopus i Web of Science, понад 400 – у фахових українських виданнях. Із науковим доробком, що складає 1221 статтю у Scopus та 1248 – у Web of Science та відповідними h-індексами 26 і 27, ми впевнено, з помітним прискоренням, рухаємося до нових вершин.
Для практичного впровадження у лікувально-діагностичний процес лікувальних закладів Полтави та області створено 76 медичних технологій. У результаті патентно-ліцензійної роботи видано 170 охоронних документів, опубліковано 43 нововведення у медичну галузь.
Всі згадані здобутки відобразилися на рейтингу науково-педагогічних працівників Університету (https://science.pdmu.edu.ua/scientific-departments/scientific-department/reytingoviy-spisok-npp), що свідчить про ефективну професійну роботу на благо вітчизняної медичної науки.

Every Saturday in May, Ukraine honors scientific traditions, summarizes achievements and celebrates the Science Day, because it is an indicator of the intellectual potential of the nation and its future.
The scientists of Poltava State Medical University represent their institution and the country in the international arena with dignity, working every day to make constant progress and implement scientific results in the healthcare industry, which is of utmost importance nowadays. At a time when research work requires more and more effort and hard work, the hard work of our team multiplies the achievements in the world treasury of knowledge.
The quality of scientific research at the national level is ensured by our Vice-Rectors, Igor Kaidashev and Igor Skrypnyk, who serve as Deputy Chairmen of the Expert Councils of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine on the attestation of scientific personnel. The need to train highly qualified personnel in the field of health care is now beyond doubt and sets us responsible tasks, which we successfully fulfill. In 2023, the University trained Doctor of Medical Science, Associate Professor of the Department of Public Health with medical and labor expertise Oleksandr Havlovskyi under the supervision of Professor Iryna Holovanova. By successfully implementing 5 PhD programs, the University has trained 15 Doctors of Philosophy who continue their scientific research with dignity, multiplying the results of the powerful scientific schools of the University. In 2023, PhD students Roman Skrypnyk and Oleksandr Maksymenko were awarded the Poltava City Council Scholarship for Young Scientists.
To train competitive scientific personnel, the University has specialized academic councils: D 44.601.02 with the right to accept for consideration and defend theses for the degree of Doctor (Candidate) of Medical Sciences in the following specialties: 14.01.02 - internal diseases, 14.01.11 - cardiology, 14.01.20 - skin and venereal diseases (https://www.pdmu.edu.ua/spetsrada/dysertacii/d-44-601-02-22 ); D 44.601.01 with the right to accept for consideration and defend theses for the degree of Doctor of Sciences in the specialty 14.01.22 "Dentistry"

The priority vector of our institution is to develop the research abilities of the younger generation of scientists, starting from the student's bench. They will form the scientific center that will respond to the challenges that Ukraine will face after the war. For example, students Anastasiia Lypko and Anastasiia Rak were trained at the University of La Rioja (Logroño, Spain), and Oleksandra Shubina, Ksenia Davydovych, and Elvina Mamiedova were trained at the Warsaw Medical University (Poland). Students Anatolii Miagkokhlib and Veronika Mamontova were awarded scholarships named after the Hero of the Heavenly Hundred, Hero of Ukraine Ihor Serdiuk by the Poltava Regional Council.
The talented students conducted complex scientific research and qualitative studies, which made it possible to present 24 works for participation in the All-Ukrainian competition of student research papers of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. Also, students personally and co-authored 14 articles in periodicals of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, 17 - in publications indexed by SCOPUS/Web of Science.
We are proud of our students-winners of the competition "For the Prize of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine for Young Scientists (Students)" in the field of Biochemistry, Physiology and Molecular Biology: Heorhii Kostenko, Yaroslava Petrashevska, Viacheslav Mykhailenko.
The international cooperation of the institution has also yielded a number of significant results. In cooperation with the Essen Institutes of Virology and Microbiology, a partner, the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), funded a project to restore effective virological and microbiological diagnostics in Poltava. This project is part of an urgent program for Ukraine from the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). As part of the cooperation, kits were purchased for the diagnosis of infectious diseases, identification of pathogenic microflora and antibiotic sensitivity, and nucleic acid isolation.
On February 26-27, 2024, a conference was held in Berlin by the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), which supports Ukraine on behalf of the German Federal Government. Representatives of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and researchers from Poltava State Medical University, Professors Igor Kaidashev and Tetiana Koval, took part in the conference on hospital partnerships, titled "Healthcare Partnerships between Ukraine and Germany: Sustainability, Recovery, and EU Accession."
Cooperation was established with the University of Warwick and the University of Coventry (UK) to involve representatives of English universities in the scientific projects of PSMU and to develop joint training modules for PhD students within the international project "Collaborative Online International Learning" (COIL).
The project "DigiTal tRANSFORMation of higher dental EDucation (TRANSFORMED)" was developed together with the University of Porto (Portugal), Paul Sabatier University (France), University of Perugia (Italy) and Vilnius University (Lithuania) to participate in the competition "Capacity building in the field of higher education - 2023".
Cooperation continues with the European University Foundation EUF, the Observatory Magna Charta Universitatum, the United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI), the European University Association (EUA), the International Association of Universities (IAU).
We are sincerely grateful to our foreign partners who continue to support us despite the extremely difficult situation in Ukraine. Their support makes it possible to continuously search for new areas of cooperation, conduct joint research, which provides new opportunities for scholarships and grants for academic staff, PhD students, and higher education students: Erasmus+, EFIS Scholarship, Fernandes Fellowship (UK), PAUSE Program (France), interactive resources "#ScienceForUkraine" and "War in Ukraine - Student Support Center", scholarships from Tel Aviv University, the Program for the Integration of Ukrainian Scientists (Brazil), etc.
The Science Forum, a marathon of scientific events designed to combine a review of the achievements of both the youngest scientists and those who are professionally engaged in scientific activities in the field of biomedicine, has already become a tradition. The 4th International Medical Students Conference in Poltava (IMEDSCOP 2023), the competition of scientific papers of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, and the All-Ukrainian Conference of Young Scientists "Medical Science" were held. For academic staff and healthcare professionals, 20 events of various levels were held (https://www.pdmu.edu.ua/sections/naukovyi-viddil/conferences ), Among them are the traditional ones – 5th Maksymovych-Ambodyk Poltava Perinatal Readings: "Newest Technologies in Perinatal Practice, Pediatric Service, Medical Education and Challenges of Today", All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference "Topical Issues of Clinical Neurology (dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Professor Nataliia Hrytsai)".
In the ranking list of Ukrainian universities according to SCOPUS 2023, PSMU took 86th place (https://osvita.ua/vnz/rating/88976/ ). Notably, in 2024, the University is already ranked 77th, which indicates the effective work of the team. During 2023, the scientists published 266 articles in authoritative publications of Scopus and Web of Science databases, more than 400 in professional Ukrainian publications. With a scientific output of 1221 articles in Scopus and 1248 in Web of Science and the corresponding h-indices of 26 and 27, we are confidently moving to new heights with a noticeable acceleration.
We have created 76 medical technologies for practical implementation in the treatment and diagnostic process of medical institutions in Poltava and the region. As a result of patent and license work, 170 protection titles were issued, and 43 medical innovations were published.
All these achievements are reflected in the rating of the University's scientific and pedagogical staff (https://science.pdmu.edu.ua/scientific-departments/scientific-department/reytingoviy-spisok-npp ), which testifies to the effective professional work for the benefit of the national medical science.
