CITY FESTIVAL AND THE 74TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE LIBERATION OF THE CITY FROM NAZI OCCUPATION

On September 23 the people of Poltava celebrate the city festival and the 74th anniversary of the liberation of the city from Nazi occupation, commemorates the heroism of the Ukrainian people in fighting for peace, freedom and justice.
On the eve of the holiday the members of the Labor Union Committee of the Academy, headed by Associate Professor Z.O. Borysova, congratulated the veterans of the Academy.
On September 23 the administration, employees, students of the HSEEU “UMSA” and the Veterans Council laid flowers to the Memorial to heroic medical professionals, the students and the professors of the Academy, who had fallen in the World War II, to the memorial to the liquidators of the Chernobyl catastrophe, and to the Soldiers Glory Memorial.
On that same day an art picnic took place in Poltava arboretum. The motto of the picnic was “Spend the day in the open air”. Many students of our Academy, volunteers of the “Unity” team, who helped organize the event, took part in the picnic. Mahsun Budakov, the 2-year student of the Medical Faculty No.2, performed a song for the guests of the event.
In the green area, many masters of various sports and arts have gathered to attract Poltava residents to active recreation. The art picnic is an event in which various types of art and sports joined in all kinds of entertainments in one picturesque place where people can break away from their everyday problems, gadgets and come with their family to the City Festival.
On September 24, students, employees of the Academy and medical colleagues took part in the traditional annual ethno-festival "Poltava embroidery". The festive procession passed from the Cathedral Square to the Victory Park. The symbols of eternal existence, life-affirming energy, dignity, prosperity and beauty have united everyone into a great friendly family. The art project "Poltava embroidery" has gathered those who are the heart and soul, the future of Ukraine, who respect the original traditions and appreciate the unique cultural heritage of the Ukrainian people.
