SCIENTIFIC PICNICS

On September 30, 2017 "Scientific Picnics" - the largest open-air science festival in Ukraine - was held in Poltava for the first time. The aim of the event is to awaken the interest in science and research in a simple and accessible, through live demonstration to explain and demonstrate the laws of nature or the latest achievements of science and technology.
The students of the HSEEU "UMSA" and the Medical College of the Academy joined the national festival.
Within the framework of the event various master classes, experiments, presentations took place. Our students conducted a master class for providing emergency medical assistance. The medical department of the college taught the basics of desmursion, injection administration. Those who wanted could measure blood pressure and height.
The pharmaceutical department was the most popular among visitors. It worked in two locations – “Chemistry in home medicine” and “Cosmetic products manufacturing”. Children and young people had the opportunity to get acquainted with the technology of making menthol ointment for the nose, baby powder, soap and lip balm at home and, along with students, conduct a series of chemical experiments.
