The Department of Propedeutics of Internal Medicine with Patient Care, General Practice (Family Medicine) is actively involved in the development and support of various branches of medical science and practice. Recently Professor of the department Yuri Grigorievich Burmak received a commendation for the active participation and significant contribution to the organization of the conference with international participation "The role and place of folk medicine in integrated therapy" devoted to the 25th anniversary of the foundation of the Private Higher Educational Establishment "Kyiv Medical University".
Within the framework of health care reform in Ukraine, primary health care (PHC) on the basis of family medicine has a leading role in providing medical care to the population. In order to improve the quality of medical students' training in the discipline "General Practice - Family Medicine", the staff of the Department prepared a study guide "Organizational Foundations of Primary Health Care in Ukraine" and provided copies to medical libraries in the country. Authors received official commendation for the replenishment of the funds of the National Scientific Medical Library of Ukraine.
