The staff of the Department of Propedeutics of Internal Medicine with Patient Care and General Practice (Family Medicine) continues learning about cultural and historical heritage of Ukraine. After their April trip with students on the route from Vinnitsa to Kamyanets-Podilskyi and to Chernivtsi, which left bright impressions and unforgettable memories, the staff of the department went to the heart of the Ukrainian Carpathians - to Hutsulshchyna.

The journey went on through the Dubensky, Olesky and Pidhirt castles, which are striking by their grandeur and historical past. The excursion to Ivano-Frankivsk was interesting and just magical. The modern resort Bukovel is a fabulous town on the background of boundless mountains. Maniavsky Skete, which re-opened and preserved its history in a distant spruce isolation, left a great trace in the hearts of the travellers, they were greatly impressed by the magnificent beauty of the mysterious Maniavsky Falls. They also visited Yaremche with its turbulent rumble on the Prut River and the capital of Easter eggs - Kolomyia with its cozy old streets and magnificent museums, and the silvery Sheshory waterfalls with crystals of pure spring water.

The travellers left their hearts in the small town of Kosiv, the centre of the spiritual and creative heritage of Hutsulshchyna, and in the picturesque village of Kryvorivnya, near Verkhovyna, where at different times our great ancestors lived and worked - Ivan Franko, Mykhailo Hrushevsky, Lesja Ukrainka, Oleksandr Oles, Gnat Khotkevich, where Sergey Parajanov shot one of the best films in the history of world cinema "Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors". There, in Kryvorivne, in the three hundred-year-old church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin, which never closed its doors in the history of its existence, despite the stormy times, wars and repressions, they became acquainted with an extraordinary man - Father Ivan Rybaruk, who, in a short period of sincere communication, revealed to us his whole world - what is love for people, love to their native land, creative achievements, cultural heritage, how Ukrainians retain their dignity, their national essence, how to find understanding and aspiration for peace, to fight like our great ancestors. And they believed in Ukraine, in its bright future, because the most valuable thing in it is people who are worthy, proud and talented.

Their wonderful guide, geographer Alexander Tytik introduced them to the talented artists, well-known in Ukraine and beyond its borders, - ceramicist Yuri Stripko, carvers Mykola Strinyuk, a family of artists of Lucuchuk and historian-ethnographer Yaroslav Zelenchuk. He told them fascinating stories of the Hutsul region, showed the majestic beauty of the Carpathian Mountains, which he loves so much, and they brought a piece of this love with them to share it with you. For the best place under the sun is our Ukraine, long-suffering but invincible, so inexhaustible and incomprehensibly beautiful. So, travel with us, travel in our ways, lay your directions, share your impressions, fill your hearts with love, and the world - good deeds. Because Ukraine needs this!
